CrowdCoinage OS

The first version of the focuses on the functionality of crowdfunding. The user can gain insight into the steps on how to publish an ICO campaign. After signing up it will be possible to create an ICO campaign from the scratch by filling a form, see the published campaign in the list view and open the detailed view of the campaign. In addition, it will be possible for users to see how to contribute to the project by inserting the amount they want to invest.

What is CrowdCoinage ?

CrowdCoinage is a decentralized crowdfunding platform for ICO Campaigns. CrowdCoinage’s goal is to provide a complete solution to start and fund a business from anywhere in the world in a decentralized environment for free.

The platform is going to be built on top of the blockchain with the primary focus on security. We all know how largely unregulated cryptocurrency investment landscape is littered with dozens of fraudulent ventures. At CrowdCoinage we are planning to fix that.

Only the community decides whether the project is legit. If after the token sale they do not fulfill their promises the funds won’t be released. Moreover, the e-Residency program can be used for quicker KYC and security identification of the project.

Each project can conduct their token sales for free. At the same time if the startup needs extra help it can access the marketplace with different services.

CrowdCoinage is located in Tallinn, Estonia. Estonia is a technology-driven country – the birthplace of technology heavyweights like Skype. Setting high goals and achieving them is a part of Estonians’ DNA and there is no exception for CrowdCoinage either.

Here is a presentation video about CrowdCoinage :

Decentralized built entirely on blockchain

CrowdCoinage ICO platform will be entirely built on top of the blockchain, only the very necessary servers or services will be used outside of the blockchain. For example, personal data will be kept separated so that users can ask for its complete deletion. It will be required by the upcoming GDPR regulation and by media and communication. Other than that, all the functions, votes and transactions on the CrowdCoinage ICO platform will be set up in decentralized way. Frontend is going to consist of web and mobile apps with a simple UI that interacts with the blockchain via lightweight API.

Secure community & investors decide

Community has an important part in the cryptocurrency/blockchain world and CrowdCoinage would like to continue that tradition. All projects that have been submitted for their ICOs using the CrowdCoinage platform must first and foremost achieve the community’s trust and approval. All projects must build their community of supporters like any other project that would launch an ICO outside of the CrowdCoinage platform. All community members can express their support by casting a vote into the blockchain and when the project has received enough votes it can move on to the next phase the token sale. After the project has received community’s support and positive feedback, it will be more probable that they will conduct a successful token sale and raise a lot of cryptofunds. After the token sale project has automatically received funds needed for the first milestone on their roadmap, the rest of the amount raised will be held by a smart contract until the project will be ready for the next milestone. Investors can vote to decide whether the project’s team has fulfilled their promises and on the positive vote, funds will be released for the next milestone.

FreenNetwork fee is the only cost

We will keep the basic plan free for all users. Our policy is that all projects, no matter how big or small, should be able to conduct their token sales and would not need to worry about expenses because CrowdCoinage will not add any hidden fees to token sales. Projects can always purchase some extra featured functions and services, for example marketing and legal plans, as a paid options if they have a need for such services.

Marketplace services and professionals

The marketplace is meant both for companies and professionals offering their services. For example, professionals with special skillsets can submit their applications to the CrowdCoinage job market. They would like to join awesome startups but have not found matching challenges yet. After setting up their profile, they can wait for startups to make an offer that a job seeker cannot refuse or they can also apply for vacant positions announced by startups.

There are literally hundreds of third party services that are somehow related to ICOs. For example copywriters for whitepapers; community managers for various social media channels like Reddit, BitcoinTalk and Telegram; editors and managers for videos, PR and news channels; marketing specialists; legal counseling, etc. All the services that startups need in order to set up a successful ICO will be only a couple mouse clicks away on the CrowdCoinage ICO platform.

E-Residency
EU companies & identification

Thanks to this unique program, startups from anywhere in the world can set up a company in Estonia and conduct their ICOs via CrowdCoinage’s platform. Later this year e-residency application process will be implemented into our platform for improved user experience. The ID card provided by the e-residency program can be used for example for quicker KYC and secure identification needed to move funds from one wallet to another.

Here's a Quick Overview of Our Development Stack

VueJS is our main framework of choice for frontend which is coupled with the latest technologies such as: ES6, Webpack, Babel, SSR, Gulp, HTML5, CSS3 etc. SSR (server-side rendering) boosts our application’s initial loading time which means the users can interact with the application quicker.

Sentry gives our customers the best possible user experience by monitoring crashes in real time which boosts our platform efficiency. Implementing Hotjar enables us to get even better insights of our userbase.

To filter out any bugs in our codebase, we are using Mocha automated unit tests and manpower to make sure everything works.

What is an ICO ?

An ICO (Initial Coin Offering) is like an IPO (Initial Public Offering), but it will be organized in the cryptocurrency economy. During an IPO in the traditional economy, a number of shares will be made available on a public stock exchange in some country. An ICO is the process of allowing anyone from anywhere in the world to buy the company’s tokens. These tokens can be like shares and tradable on cryptocurrency exchanges, but also may have some predetermined unique properties based on their related smart contracts.

Why a token contract is needed on Ethereum ?

A token contract is basically a map of Ethereum account addresses and their balances. The balance can be called token. The contract describes the logic needed to ensure that the balances always match the actions that have been completed by token owners. The methods include for example querying the total number of tokens or defining how to send tokens from one address to another.

CCOS coin

It will be possible to use CCOS coins for various purposes. For example the coins can be used to pay for services like insurances, P2P loans and to run ICO campaigns. The CCOS coin will increase its value through use.

There is also a plan to integrate the Estonian eResidency program into the CrowdCoinage, which makes it easy to run a business and everything associated with it and use CCOS coins for example as a base currency for running everyday operations (once CrowdCoinage has obtained respective licenses).

CCOS coin will be traded on major exchanges, next to all other known cryptocurrencies. We believe that CCOS coin will become known and accepted outside of the CrowdCoinage as the community grows, we unveil the new services
mentioned on our roadmap and we obtain the necessary licenses for CCOS coin to be used as a payment instrument outside the CrowdCoinage .

A total of 250,000,000 CCOS coins will be generated. Half (125,000,000) of the generated CCOS coins will be for sale during this ICO. 80% (100,000,000) of these will be distributed among investors and the rest will be generated for the team, the members of the advisory board and bounties. CCOS coins will not be mined by users or any other companies.

How CC Platform Work ?

uPort  is  Mobile app for managing your online identity. Logging into uPort is as easy as scanning a QR code. uPort allows for quick authentication and transaction signing, and allows the user to receive push notifications. The uPort user’s personal data is stored on their device, so risk of data loss is minimized.

However, our centralized server may store photos, team members, listings and/or other personal data. Due the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) coming into effect soon, we have processes in place to delete any PERSONAL information stored on our server upon user request.

ICO Listing Process

Once the user arrives at the CrowdCoinage platform, they are free to browse content without user-authentication. However, to interact with the platform, they must have uPort installed on their mobile-device.

To take part in an active campaign, the user must first be logged in via uPort. Once logged in, the user can purchase tokens.

Owning tokens gives CrowdCoinage community members the right to vote on our platform. Voting gives community members control over which ICOs get listed on the platform, and also on the release of campaign funds.

Posting a new ICO requires users to fill out a multi-step form. As part of this intake process, the CrowdCoinage system builds milestone criterias. An ICO must reach these milestones before their funding is released.

This is an important process to safeguard to filter out scam ICOs.

How CrowdCoinage Voting Works ?

In order for an ICO to become listed on the CrowdCoinage platform, it must first pass an approval vote by the community. (This means building a community ahead of the platform launch is a must.)

After an ICO hits a milestone stage, all participants are notified via uPort push notifications (or via email, according to their preference.) Vote stakes are calculated by the number of tokens an investor holds. Community members who do not hold tokens cannot participate in voting.

A 51% percent YES vote counts as a majority.

In the event that voters agree that an ICO has failed to meet milestone requirements, no payout is made and an extension is agreed upon. If a second vote also fails, the ICO is concluded. Any remaining funds are returned to current token holders. An Instant refund is triggered to investors if all the votes are negative.

If no voters show up to participate in a milestone completion vote, the current milestone is paid out and the ICO proceeds to the next milestone date.

This voting feature helps prevent scam ICOs from being listed on our platform. If a complaint is lodged against an ICO for engaging in fraudulent practices, we will close it down. In this event, all funds raised to date by the ICO campaign will be refunded to investors.

KYC Requirements

For additional security, the community can require a campaign to comply with KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements. This means that when an ICO reaches a milestone, they will not receive funds automatically until they complete KYC forms.

As soon as the ICO meets the KYC requirements, then funds are released according to the campaign agreement. If the ICO fails to comply with the KYC requirement, all funds invested into the ICO campaign will be returned to investors.
